Covid-19 has had a profound effect on everyone in 2020 and is still causing events to be canceled or postponed. Unfortunately, the virus also affects Diversnight on Saturday, November 7th. Les på norsk!
After two events were canceled in Norway yesterday, Diversnight organizer Ludvig F. Aarstad feels it's important to emphasize the importance of following local guidelines to stop the spread of Covid-19.
He urges everyone to make sure local restrictions allow for the event to be held.
In case of restrictions limiting the number of people recommended to gather, one option could be to split the event between two or more dive sites to comply with guidelines.

Health and safety first
– We issued information urging everyone to follow local health guidelines and regulations when we opened the registration for Diversnight in September. Unfortunately, the situation has deteriorated in many places since then, he says.
As of today, there are 145 registered dive sites in 23 countries. Aarstad is hoping most of them can go forward with their Diversnight event as planned but encourages canceling if mandated by local regulations.
– Next year's Diversnight just one year away, and health and safety always has the highest priority, Aarstad says.
He adds that organizers who can hold their Diversnight event should make sure all participants can keep their distance and maintain proper hygiene measures.
Keeping a participant list with phone numbers is also important in case infection tracking becomes necessary.
