One Ocean Dive Resort with fast, new RIB

One Ocean Dive Resort on the Norwegian south coast has acquired a fast RIB to increase range and offer even more wrecks to visiting divers. – Now we can dive anywhere from Mandal to Lillesand, says owner Carlo Golfetto.

The new 34 ft. RIB is named «Delta Spirit», and is powered by three 250 hp engines which give it a top speed of around 50 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots. The increases in range means the resort can offer more wrecks.

– There's space for 12 divers with twin sets, and the RIB can handle larger waves better than our existing dive boat. We are however keeping the old boat and will be able to offer trips tailored to what our guests want, Golfetto says.

Two dive boats – more options

That means it will still be an option to cruise slowly among the beautiful islands on the Norwegian south coast, have lunch on board between dives and chill out in peace and quiet – and the new RIB offers fast trips to go wreck diving.

The dive trips will be faster with 3 x 250 horsepower. The new RIB gives One Ocean Dive Resort a considerable increase in range, which means more wrecks will be on the menu.

A wreck-diving haven

The area from Mandal to Lillesand is one of the most exciting in Norway for those interested in wrecks and maritime history. Countless ships have sunk along this 30 nautical miles stretch of coast, both during the war and in older times.

Wrecks like NK-02 Dragoner, V-1605 Mosel, M/V Seattle, S/S Oliva, S/S Havbris, the minesweeper M-426, M-1104 Jan Hubert and the so-called «town wrecks» are some of the most popular among visiting divers.

The wreck of NK-02 Dragoner can be reached in considerably less time with the new RIB at One Ocean Dive Resort. The ride will be no more than about 30 minutes.

Rebreather friendly dive resort

One Ocean Dive Resort has become a rebreather friendly resort the last year, and Carlo Golfetto has himself taken a rebreather course and is now diving a JJ-CCR.

Combined with a big, fast RIB this offers visiting divers the unique opportunity to visit a range of Norway's most beautiful wrecks – and have plenty of bottom time to experience them.

– The RIB allows us to do a morning dive and be back before lunch! We can also do longer trips even if the weather is not all sunshine and calm, Golfetto says.

One Ocean Dive Resort offers wreck diving from Mandal to Lillesand and can offer their customers tailor-made dive trips with their two different boats.

One Ocean Dive Resort will also be offering different types of RIB safaris to cruise ship guests and other non-diving customers.
