Depth 17 meters (55 ft.), about 15 meters above the bottom, water temperature 10 degreees Celcius. Diameter 80–100 centimeters (30–40 inches). No current.
The giant jelly balls have been shown to be the eggmass of the southern short-finned squid, Illex coindetii.
Over the last few years, around 80 observations of these mysterious jelly balls have been made along the Norwegian coast.
