If you're a wreck diver, the spectacular WW2 wrecks in Narvik are certainly on your bucket list. But before you get in the water you need permission from the harbourmaster.

According to local regulations, diving in the inner part of Narvik Harbour is prohibited. You can dive if you have obtained a permit.
– Divers have to stop by our offices and ask the harbourmaster for a diving permit, harbour inspector Preben Pettersen tells Dykking.
Areas subject to permission:
In Narvik harbour within a straight line from Katleberget (pos. N 68° 24,10' E 17° 28,70') to Lappnesodden (pos. N 68° 23,70' E 17° 29,00') and to th western point at Framnesodden (pos. N 68° 25,95' E 17° 22,90') to Båtberget light beacon (pos. N 68° 25,58' E 17° 21,50').
Diving without a permit is prohibited and may be prosecuted. This applies to commercial diving as well as sports/technical diving.
You also need a permit to dive within hundred meters of these wrecks:

Applicants will have to pay a fee when obtaining the permit. The harbourmaster may be able to provide information about the wrecks and local conditions.
Please remember, you're NOT allowed to remove any artifacts from the wrecks or the surrounding seafloor. If you do so you might be prosecuted.

Great wreck diving in southern Norway
Diving in Narvik is at your own peril. In addtition to the harbourmaster's permit you must abide to laws concerning Cultural Heritage Act, Burial Places Act places, Outdoor Recreation Act and the general Penal Code.
